STREET ART AND THE EAST END
The East End has been through a lot over the past 200 years; it has been a slum, a place for crime a war scene and now one of the most trendiest places in the country. This walk looks at how far the East End has come since the Victorian era and it's the street art that will aid our understanding of this. We will see work by the likes of Mr Cenz, Banksy, Ben Eine, Stik and many more.
Rotherhithe in South East London displays echoes of the past around every corner. From being an integral part of Londons great docklands, inspiring artists like J.M.W Turner and being the place where the famous Mayflower ship set sail 400 years ago (this year). We will visit churches, take in views along the Thames path and visit a famous pub or two,
and all the while you’ll be in the comfort of your home with your kettle just a short walk away.
Lets discover Rotherhithe together.
years and echoes from the past can be found everywhere. It was once the place where 100’s of ships full of expensive items like tobacco, would weigh anchor in what was known as The London Docks. This in turn would breed thieves and pirates, who if they weren’t careful would end up at execution dock, which lived close by. Wapping has lived an exciting and erratic life, come with me and let’s explore it together.
THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF GREENWICH
